A playlist for 1993!
In my latest novel, Rewind, McKinley O’Dair goes back in time to 1993, where she is forced to spend time with the father that drives her crazy . . . when he was in sixth grade just like she is.
Of course, the 90’s weren’t all bad, and there’s lots that McKinley comes to love—like the music, for example! Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, the Crash Test Dummies . . . 1993 was a great year for hit tunes.
In the book, each chapter shares a title with an awesome song that was released in 1993. Not only was picking appropriate titles a super fun project for me as I was writing, I was also hoping that it would help lots of readers who weren’t alive in 1993 get a real feel for the era, and maybe discover some new favorite artists as well! To that end, I’ve created a Spotify playlist with all the chapter title songs, which I’d be thrilled if you jammed out to this summer. :)
Here’s a full list of the titles, with links to the music videos where available. Have fun getting your 1993 on! [Disclaimer: These are music videos from the 1990s. I make no guarantees that every one will be appropriate for all viewers.]
