1993 A to Z: O is for . . .
This will probably come as a huge surprise, but it is time once again for another installment of . . .
1993 A to Z!
Today we’re talking all things “O”—well, okay, one thing “O.” (It’s a tough letter, all right??) But this one thing does get a nice shout out in Rewind, so let’s check it out!
O is for . . .
Oakley sunglasses
The first Oakley sunglasses were sold in 1984, and apparently resembled googles. By 1993, at least in California, they seemed to be everywhere. Sporty and sometimes oddly shaped, and always with that distinctive squashed “O” logo, Oakleys were easy to recognize, and definitely the height of eye-wear cool. I distinctly remember having a pair of knock-of Oakleys, and thinking I was the bomb-diggity.
. . . And that’s actually all I’ve got for “O,” though I’m sure there must be more! Let me know in the comments what I forgot. Next time we’ll be discussing the letter “P”—and let me tell you, there are a pluthera of “P”s!
Need something to read while you wait? Check out Rewind here! :)
Happy reading!
